Here are some of the ‘must do’s at the initial stage :

• Let your parents and immediate family in on the good news followed by relatives and good friends.
• Figure out a tentative period when considering dates.
• Share preliminary ideas on what type of wedding you’d like.
• Consider a comfortable wedding budget.
• Think whether you’d like to employ the services of a wedding planner.

Follow that up with :

• Set the date.
• Firm up your wedding budget.
• Draw up a guest list of the ‘must invite’ and send out save-the-date cards.
• Decide on venues for the ceremony and banquet.
• Start sourcing for vendors.
